Approximately $17 400 CAD was raised through fundraising activities such as the Rotary Run for Rwanda and donations to support 10 Rwandan girls in the final three years of their secondary school education one at vocational school and 5 Rwandan girls in their studies at university. The funds pay for school and boarding fees plus other expenses such as transport uniforms and mentorship. Unpaid volunteers help in the fundraising activities a total of approximately 300 hours. 10 students at secondary school: $750 USD x 10 = $7500 USD 1 student at vocational school: $750 USD 4 students at university: $1250 USD x 4 = $5000 USD $750 USD to contribute to Komera mentor's salary. Total: $14 000 USD
