Kittiwake Dance Theatre Incorporated

Newfoundland and Labrador's only professional ballet and contemporary ballet company Kittiwake's mandate is to advance the arts through creation and presentation of inspired dance works that enrich audiences in our province and beyond. Our vision is elevating the art of dance. Our values are passion creativity integrity professionalism and community-mindedness. We emphasize creation of new dance works which we present through a full season of concerts including touring. We have a special interest in developing creativity and expression through dance and nurturing emerging dancers through artistic development. We foster a sense of community in outreach to schools and seniors' groups. We cultivate live music collaborations with local composers musicians and ensembles. This year we performed with Ballet Kelowna on their Newfoundland tour premiered Limerence through the emerging choreographer-in-residence program in partnership with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra presented the 37th annual production and tour of The Nutcracker as well as an outdoor summer performance series. We offered a summer dance intensive and a workshop series.
