Kitikmeot Heritage Society

The Pitquhirnikkut Ilihautiniq/Kitikmeot Heritage Society (PI/KHS) manages various projects geared toward Inuit culture language and heritage. Ongoing projects include the operation of a combined museum public and school library cultural centre archive and gallery. The society also operates a mentor-apprentice program to revitalize the Inuinnaqtun language archaeology and toponymy programs climate change programs and an Elder-in-residence program. The society is currently planning the development of a new museum and cultural centre. Inuinnaqtun Language Documentation Workshops Philanthropy and Communications mentorship digital repatriation of Inuinnait collections from around the world and the development of new exhibits.
