The kghs holds 10 monthly meetings and publishes monthly newsletters. Kghs financially supports and operates the kingsville archives where historical records documents books maps and photos and cataloged digitized and properly stored by a team of volunteers. It is available to the public at no charge for research inquires regarding local history and genealogy in person by phone or e-mail. The kingsville archives is open to the public several days per week and by appointment. Research inquires are answered by phone email and in-person. The team of 20 volunteers have work to access file index preserve and photography over 600 items into the collection this year. Guest speakers on a variety of topics of local interest are featured at monthly meetings. Speakers give audio visual presentations with additional displays of books collections of archival photos and maps. The kingsville archives' more up-to-date microfilm reader for improved research of old newspapers has become operational. A local newspaper 'the southpoint sun' requests several historical photos from the collection to be included in weekly issues. A student contract workers was hired at the kingsville archives for the summer months to assist the volunteers with the work. A kghs member gave three talks for the local community at unico hall in january februrary and march on various topics related to kingsville history. An improved membership to 'ancestry' was purchased for the archives to assist visitors and volunteers with genealogy research. There were many inquires about the history of the three schools that are closing in the community. The archives have acquired all the yearbooks from the former kingsville district high school. An open house at the kingsville archives was held on saturday june 15. Visitors toured the facility and explored the collection. The kingsville archives has increased its community outreach by opening on saturday afternoons. A kghs member hosted a loyalist cemetery walk
