About King Township Public Library

The library is open for free public service a total of 6240 hrs per year at 3 branches and 2 self service points. Our registered membership is approximately 5500 patrons. The public library exists to meet the educational informational and recreational needs of the community. The library operates under ontario's public libraries act and the majority of funding is via the township of king. Ongoing programs includes: - free access/borrowing privileges to print and digital materials equipment computers and internet ms office tools basic computer training and electronic databases for people of all abilities and ages through welcoming branches and a user-friendly interactive web-site. -free or cost recovery only programs for children of all ages emphasizing literacy including reading buddy programs for emergent readers internet safety courses -a community calendar to promote library programs as well as made available to the township and local community organizations to promote/schedule community events and programs along with the use of social media such as twitter to communicate with our users -free book delivery to home-bound patrons community outreach to promote literacy and library services -adult programs on health diabetes presented by local professionals hosted by library -steam programing and material for children -due date notification programs & services event blast emails -self-checkout capability furthering patron privacy and faster service the library introduced new adult based program very popular with the senior community - the spice club. We also introduced new 'read-along' format of children's books that have embedded digital recording of the book as well as a spanish language collection for children. A second self-serve browseable book kiosk was purchased to be launched in the new multi use recreation complex opening in janurary 2026.
