Kids kicking cancer's heroes circle programs provides evidence-based therapeutic martial arts classes and support during hospital visits and clinic procedures for all children facing the pain and discomfort of any paediatric illness. Programs offer one-on-one training and group classes for both paediatric inpatients and outpatients and other populations of children in need. This innovative program merges modern integrative medicine with the mind-body techniques of martial arts. The program enables children to push away the messages of pain fear and anger without th ehelp of additional pain medications. Hospital programs provide martial arts for children with cancer and any child in pain from serious illness as well as support during hospital and clinic procedures. Programs are offered periodically at london's children's hospital children's hospital of eastern ontario in ottawa bc children's hospital in vancouver and toronto's sick kids hospital. Community programs are provided at facilities outside the hospital to service outpatients chidlren in remission as well as their siblings as we well as community children experiencing the trauma of pain. Community programs are offered weekly and on a periodic basis at approx 24 locations in london ottawa vancouver and toronto area. These include indigenous schools dojo's treatment centres recreation facilities etc. Classes are also provided virtually. Approximately 25-30 trained volunteers provie therapeutic martial arts support.
