About Karis Disability Services
Karis Disability Services is a non-profit faith-based charitable organization providing supports and services to more than 2 500 people who experience disabilities and their families in Ontario and Saskatchewan. With more than 200 residences and respite care facilities we offer programs and services that can be tailored to meet a wide variety of needs. We believe that supporting a person's emotional physical social and spiritual needs contributes to their lives in profound ways and opens doors to belonging in their community. Karis Disability Services programs are directly funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children Community and Social Services and Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services. Our Vision; People who experience disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and celebrated. Our Mission: As an expression of Christian faith we work together with people who experience disabilities to accomplish their goals and nurture communities where everybody belongs. Our Values: Valuing people- we believe that all people are created in the image of God and are loved and valued equally. Fostering belonging - we strengthen communities by fostering belonging with people with disabilities. Serving others - we mobilize our faith to effectively and compassionately support those around us. Celebrating gifts - we celebrate the many skills abilities and contributions that everybody including people with disabilities offers the world around them. No new programs were undertaken during the year.
