Karen'S Place London Inc.

Utilizing a large single family residence at 403 central avenue in london ontario karen's place provides shelter food clothing activities and counseling services marginalized in need women over 50 years in age. The residence is licensed to provide housing to individuals in london ontario and the women will be permitted to live at karen's place for a period of two years. Each woman will have her own private bedroom living dining and bathroom spaces will be shared. The residents will have daily reponsibilities that will help them gain back confidence a sense of responsibility collaboration and communication skills. To assist in the support of the collaboration and communication and socialization the residents of karen's place london inc. Will have scheduled evenings including craft nights (painting pottery etc.) games nights and exercise classes. Instructors for these events and coordinators of the evenings will be volunteers karen's place london inc. Has entered into an agreement with the canadian mental association (cmha) who will facilitate the mental health services to the residents. A full time addiction and mental health worker will be present at the home to offer support to the residents. Other services such as an after-hours crisis response team nursing services and additional mental health supports will also be provided by cmha. This support will enhance the wellbeing of the residents and to assist in the progression of the resident having the confident to enter back in the community secure employment and move into permanent long term housing.
