Kamloops Search and Rescue Society

Working in conjunction with the r.c.m.p. Bc ambulance service coroners office and emergency management bc (embc) ksar provides quality care and speedy recovery of those individuals who are lost or injured while enjoying the bc interior wilderness. Urban searches are also conducted in and around the city of kamloops. In the last fiscal year ksar was called out for 61 operational periods for approximately 485 incident hours. In total 59 active members dedicated 10 497 man hours to the success of the team. This included 120 training exercises and 153 other events. School-age children and community groups are also provided with instruction on safety in the outdoors through the outdoorsafety adventuresmart wilderness safety programs.
