Legal services - the society provides free legal advice and representation to clients through staff lawyers poverty law advocates and family law advocates in kamloops and kelowna areas. It operates a library at the kamloops regional correctional centre and provides assistance to prisoners completing legal aid applications. Housing - the society operates three affordable and subsidized housing programs for singles couples and families. It operates the only second-stage housing in kamloops for women and their children. The society provides housing resources to the community and helps connect people with suitable housing options. Rent bank - the society operates rent bank programs for residents of the thompson nicola regional district as well as residents within the province where there isn't a local rent bank. Rent banks provide financial assistance in the form of a repayable loan to households at risk of eviction due to non-payment of rent or utilities and to clients who need assistance with damage deposits in order to secure housing. Sky youth program - youth involved in the criminal justice system are housed in local care-homes and are required to participate in a day program where they learn receive one-on-one support and take part in recreational activities. The society supports adult literacy and leads a gender equality systemic change project to identify systemic barriers to gender equality and advance inclusive policies and practices. The society opened 14 units of subsidized rental housing women and children at risk of violence or who have experienced violence. The society operates a hub which is a shared space for other non-profits to operate out of. Goal is to provide centralized resources for individuals looking for housing and community supports.
