K-W Working Centre for the Unemployed

The Working Centre is a mature community-based organization since 1982 creating access to tools for those without work those without housing and the most vulnerable in the community. We build dynamic spaces where community forms and people find places of belonging practical supports and ways to contribute. - St. John's Kitchen serves a daily meal to people who experience homelessness/are at risk - Street Outreach workers support people to problem-solving issues of health care income housing legal issues. - Housing - Hospitality House Water Street House affordable housing emergency Shelter. - Money Matters - Financial problem-solving supports income tax support. - Job Search Resource Centre. - Job Cafe offers creative minimum wage work. - Community Tools Projects - service to community opportunities for engagement and volunteering - includes Queen Street Commons Cafe and Fresh Ground Cafe Maurita's Kitchen (commercial comissary kitchen) Computer Recycling Recycle Cycles Community Bike Shop Green Door Clothing and Arts Space Worth a Second Look Housewares and Furniture
