About John Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church
Activities to advance the teachings of the Presbyterian faith and observances associated with it including weekly church services prayer meetings visits to hospitals and homes of the elderly. Also activities in observance and promotion of Christian baptism communion marriage and burials. Activities are operated from our building at 121 Birch Avenue in Hamilton Ontario with the efforts of volunteer Elders and one employee (the Minister) and a group of congregation members who represent approximately 90 mostly elderly and Hungarian-speaking people from Hamilton and surrounding areas. We also participate in national programs missions and humanitarian aid and under the guidance of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Fees are not charged for our services and all members of the community are welcome to participate as our Minister speaks both English and Hungarian. Funds are raised through the general church practice of tithing and passing around a collection plate during services occasional special-occasion donations and 1 or 2 fundraising dinners per year.
