About Jewish Family Services of Ottawa
To address and prevent specific problems faced by individuals families and communities by providing in a manner that is consistent with jewish values physical and mental health outreach and support education and poverty relief programs and services for the benefit of individuals families and vulnerable populations who are in need both in the jewish community and in the community at large by doing the following:(a) providing psychotherapy counselling outreach education and other support services and interventins to people in distress women and children affected by family violence and abuse immigrants refugees and vulnerable newcomers the homeless those with mental health or addictions issues and other at-risk or marginalized populations; (b) providing food and other necessities of life transportation and emergency financial assistance to individuals or families in need; (c) providing recreational social educational and cultural activities programs and support services to seniors and providing respite and support services to those caring for aged ill disabled or cognitavely impaired persons; (d) facilitating coordinating and promoting access to health social and other necessary services for individuals or families that are at-risk or marginalized; and2 (f) working cooperatively with other like-minded orginizations to support and advance these objects.
