About iPartner India Canada
Educate Her Empower Her: We give scholarships to girls who are from poor families and who are vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking. We work in a certain community where it is a custom to send adolescent girls for sex work to provide for the family. Education helps break this cycle of poverty and exploitation and these scholarships enable them to stay in school. Our main area of focus is Tonk and Alwar Rajasthan India. Two types of scholarships were given: 1. High school and Post Secondary Scholarships The scholarships we provide are a lifeline for young girls in these communities that would otherwise be trafficked into sex work. We identify students who have shown interest in pursuing higher education and who are being pressured to enter the sex trade. It is absolutely crucial for us to intervene with urgency. We are committed to protecting and supporting these girls by financing their education boarding and lodging until completion. We help them seek admission in a school with a reputation of imparting quality education to girls in high school transitioning to post secondary education. 2. Primary and Middle School Scholarships Our primary and middle school scholarships provide much needed funds to remove barriers and ensure that the girls stay in school. This covers the cost of school supplies additional tutoring counselling nutrition and transportation. There is no academic merit required but we prioritize the scholarships according to those who are the most vulnerable children in the villages we work in. Adopt a Village: We have adopted a small village in Tonk Rajasthan to ensure its holistic development. The village chosen has a low literacy rate and most of the girls are vulnerable to exploitation due to the abject poverty. By creating programs to ensure that all children are educated and youth have livelihood opportunities the health education and well being of all children in the village is improved. This includes the following initiatives
