1. Provide safe shelter and supports to woman and children experiencing family violence and all forms of gender-based violence since 1996. Access to 22 funded safe beds serving 30 woman and children. Also a 24-hour crisis line. 2. Women’s Centre in Downtown Hamilton supports over 1 000 women annually. Supports include access to safety planning survivor counselling wellness groups system navigation Transitional Housing Workers for housing and Employment Services for employment. 3. Jared’s Place in our Women’s Centre provides legal advocacy and assistance accessing family court. Women receive support with legal navigation and court accompaniment. 4. Flamborough Women’s Resource Centre provides support to women living in the Flamborough/Waterdown community. Supports include counselling and outreach. 5. MentorAction program providing prevention programs to men boys and allies to recognize gender-based violence and to disrupt the cycle. 6. Partnership with Hamilton’s Black Health Leaders to support racialized women experiencing family violence all forms of gender-based violence and for women not accessing mainstream services. 7. Partnership with Hamilton Police Services to support the new mobile RIST (Rapid Intervention Support Team) mobile intervention to people living on the street. 8. WEARS (Women’s Education and Rural Support) program launched in the summer of 2023 in response to the substantial gap in services for women living in rural areas of Hamilton. 1. Through temporary funding Interval House of Hamilton will lead a pilot project across Ontario delivering the evidence-based GBV prevention program 'Coaching Boys into Men' to 200 high schools. This program builds on our existing GBV prevention work and introduces a innovative program delivery model that engages 30 GBV service providers to support their local schools in the delivery of the program.
