ICJ Canada continues to work with its partners to organize another event on regulating the Internet to promote the rule of law and human rights. ICJ Canada continues to organize events on the rule of law and human rights. In 2024 events were organized on the Canadian Federal Modern Slavery Act in partnership with uOttawa PDI and on 'A call to Action: Fundamental Rights and the Notwithstanding Clause' in partnership with the University of Montreal Faculty of Law uOttawa Professional Development Institute and the University of Alberta Centre for Constitutional Studies. ICJ Canada continues to make submissions concerning important rule of law and human rights issues. In 2024 submissions were made for 'Working Families Coalition' 'Governing AI for Humanity' and the use and abuse of the Charter s.33 Notwithstanding Clause. ICJ Canada continues to work with Global Affairs Canada on Foreign Disinformation and Misinformation as a challenge to online Information Integrity. ICJ Canada and Global Affairs Canada regard this area as a major challenge to the rule of law and human rights in Canada and internationally. ICJ Canada will work with its civil society government and university partners to research and organize lectures and events on the challenge of Artificial Intelligence for the rule of law and human rights. ICJ Canada will work in collaboration with uOttawa PDI towards establishing a new Rule of Law and Human Rights Professional Development Program. Work towards launching a new joint ICJ Canada/uOttawa PDI Program Certificate Program inclusive of several courses on various aspects of Rule of Law and Human Rights is under way.
