About Indigenous Youth Roots Canada

We continue to operate programming grants and opportunities for Indigenous youth through our Centre for Indigenous Policy and Research (CIPR) Community Relations and Solidarity Department (CRS) and Creation Granting program. Through our Centre for Indigenous Policy and Research programming included Indigenous Youth Advocacy Week (IYAW) Indigenous Youth Policy School (Cohort 4) and the Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer Research 2.0 (Sharing Circles Online Survey). IYAW provides Indigenous youth with opportunities to connect with government leaders and policymakers to share their ideas visions and priorities. IYPS provides space for Indigenous youth ages 18-29 to engage with peers through interactive sessions on a local and national level. The Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer 2.0 engaged with Indigenous youth to better understand how Indigenous youth envision their own empowerment and futures by exploring everything from culture and wellness to solidarity reconciliation and meaningful work. Through the Creation Granting Program we provide access to multi-level funding that supports strengths-based community-focused and Indigenous youth-led projects taking place in communities across Canada. Through Creation we also ran several capacity building and relationship building workshops on topics like budgeting creating impactful business plans facilitation 101 grantee networking a paint workshop and more. CRS focuses on building and maintaining healthy relationships with the IYR community through cross cultural perspectives and solidarity. They do this through programming and activities focused on solidarity and culture and wellness.
