Iode provides scholarships bursaries and awards to students at all educational levels. It donates books to daycares schools libraries and community centres in northern ontario labrador and elsewhere in canada where need is apparent. It recognizes authors of children's literature with annual juried awards. It recognizes members of polices services for their voluntary contributions to youth development in their communities. It supplies educational materials and recreational equipment to schools. It supplies clothing food and toys to remotely located schools. School breakfasts lunches and backpack food are supplied in many locations as well as the snack pack program in labrador. Funds are provided to eye clinics and for children's kidney desease research. It also provides women's and youth shelters with food clothing household goods and personal care items. It awards a biennial grant to programs focused on preventing child abuse. Members completed 1 306 742 volunteer house during 2024.
