About Imam ash-Shafii Centre (ISC)
The Imam ash-Shafii Centre (ISC) is committed to advancing religion and education while promoting health and providing settlement support through its comprehensive array of activities. The Centre’s primary religious activities include prayer services sermons and religious classes in multiple languages including English and Arabic to a diverse community. We provide educational and religious classes both in person and virtually on a variety of topics including Quranic studies Islamic history and Arabic. In addition to religious services ISC advances education by conducting lectures and workshops on Islamic culture history finance health relationships career preparation and life skills. These programs are designed to empower individuals and help them become community leaders. The programs cover various essential topics delivered by professionals from the community. ISC also emphasizes mental health offering support for families and individuals. These services are provided by qualified individuals and are aimed at individuals facing vulnerable situations. ISC promotes physical fitness and public health by organizing sports fitness and recreational programs for children and youth. These activities led by coaches focus on building selfesteem confidence and leadership through sports like basketball and soccer. Furthermore ISC supports newcomers and immigrants in settling in Canada and being connected to community resources. The Centre also addresses youth issues by operating drop-in activities that provide structured programs aimed at resolving common youth problems and offers life coaching mentoring and volunteer opportunities to help youth develop essential skills and engage in positive activities.
