Hope Grows Haiti

Provide educational needs of orphaned and/or impoverished children in haiti by providing povertery relief food and basic personal needs as well as educational needs through funding of teacher salaries and teaching supplies supplemented with religious training and education. The food program continues for children (ages 3 to 16) at four days a week and provided one meal for 350 children at at time. Help is also extended to widows in old age who have no means of support and have essentially been abandoned. The charity also operates a church wthin its compound. In 2018 construction was completed within the walled compound for a school facility and a nursing station. All this has allowed that activities may be safely conducted for humanitarian needs such as education food and health care. Medical teams continue to use the compound to conduct a health clinic as volunteer availability from canada allows (these teams were suspended in february 2019 due to domestic political violence. For 2020 and 2021 the suspension of volunteers from outside haiti continued due to travel restrictions imposed by covid 19 crisis). Due to the political upheaval and social violence in 2022 outside volunteers are still prevented from travel to haiti.
