To advance education in the youth in the community – to deliver youth-centered experiential education programming surrounding gardening agricultural entrepreneurship skills and health lifestyles; using a community garden as the classroom and laboratory. Brief description of the program integrated education program for children and youth in a natural ecosystem within inner city to learn about and participate in growing vegetables and fruits plant science and nutrition. Curriculum modules includes: community garden designs and food systems; plant and soil science; choosing food crops and seedlings; optimizing yields; wild edibles; composting systems; organic pest control; food production and cooking essential for healthy snack and meal ideas; community capacity building through each one teach one from seedlings to harvest; training sessions as part of the garden program hope blooms provides free training sessions for junior leaders and families on organic and sustainable farming practices and food production. Activity: culinary apprenticeships culinary skill development for coordinators junior leaders and youth team . They receive hands on training in kitchen terminology commercial kitchen instruction food safety methodologies on preparing foods and recipe/menu planning. Education sessions are held with a registered dietitian.
