Stabilizing First is a 1 year program aimed at moving homeless single parent-led families from homelessness to housed. This program works to stabilize the families by connecting them to all the resources they may need to be successful. Participants are offered a rental subsidy furniture and food supports and are connected to any counselling education and/or employment services as needed to stabilize their situations be able to maintain housing and begin working on goals. Homeward Bound Halton (HBH) Program. Up to a 3 year program to assist low-income single parent families with a scholarship to complete a two year diploma program at Sheridan College to be able to secure a marketable employment position and build a career. The program is also designed to provide wraparound supports including a rental subsidy professional development employment supports access to child care and intensive case management to ensure the parent is equipped with the supports and needs to be successful in their academic and employment journey and overall be self-sufficient. Step Forward is a COVID 19 rapid housing program put into place in collaboration with the Halton Region to provide rapid housing solutions to single mother-led families who found themselves homeless as a result of the pandemic. The region provides a housing subsidy and Home Suite Hope offers intensive case management including food and transportation supports life skills and employment supports. Homeward Bound Halton Youth is an up to four year program to assist low-income single parents between the ages of 17-24 years old. The program offers a housing subsidy and childcare supports intensive case management life skills programming and other supports to help parents in completing their high school and college education.
