Home Hospice North Lanark

As a 'hospice without walls' volunteers provide support assistance and advocacy for clients who have received a life-limiting or terminal illness and/or those who care for them under the supervision of a registered nurse. Bereavement support and public education also fall within our mandate. In excess of 1200 visiting volunteer hours were realized / 6-week bereavement support courses were held / advance care planning sessions were presented / practical caregiver training sessions were ofered. The volunteer board of directors served in excess of 2400 hours. Other volunteers realized over 4 000 hours assisting with fundraising events accreditation and communications. We continued to collaborate with 3 local libraries to offer hospice/palliative/caregiver materials and books for public consumption. This was our third and final year as a service hub in a pilot partnership with nav-care funded through health canada and the university of britishcolumbia. Training & presentations were delivered in partnership with the alzheimers society. Day hospice; grief cafes
