Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge

Hobbitstee wildlife refuge continues to carry on its work of rehabilitating sick injured and orphaned wildlife with the ultimate goal of returning them to the wild. We help educate people on wildlife related issues through social media handing out of brochures attending events speaking engagements and in-classroom education. We also work with young offenders through child and youth services and provide them with meaningful activities. Hobbitstee rehabilitated over 3000 wild reptiles birds and mammals during the year. It works in conjunction with area spca offices to receive and treat orphaned wounded and sick wildlife that the public has been turned into the spca. Rehabilitated animals are returned to the areas where they were originally found when possible. Hobbitstee continues its work in restoring a badly damaged provincically significant wetland on the newly acquired property in nanticoke and rewilding lawn and creating much needed meadow/pollinator habitat.
