About Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society
The historic sherbrooke village development society (hsvds) helps support many different and ongoing educational programs which help to promote traditional arts and culture of the 1860’s. These include songwriting painting and writing workshops. Heritage events such as gaelic/scottish heritage days county fair & cardboard boat regatta country heritage driving day and the sawmill goldmine frolic. Hsvds also helps support sherbrooke show & shine and sherbrooke village old fashioned christmas. These activities help support the local communities and in return they support the many events offered. Many volunteers help to achieve these programs and events. Approximately 85 volunteers and close to 15 000 volunteer hours to help make this all possible. The hsvds provides support for historic sherbrooke village operations and programs and encourages interest in its cultural and historical significance. Major activities including hosting a number of festivals and also to increase visitation and economic development to the village the community and surrounding area.
