Helping with Furniture

Helping with furniture (hwf) appeals for and collects new and good quality used furniture household furnishings and bikes from residents and furniture stores in the ottawa area. These items are then distributed to individuals and families who have been internationally or domestically displaced due to situations of hardship and who lack the means to buy these items. Hwf aims to assist in furnishing homes to a level of modest canadian standards without cost to the canadian taxpayer. To accomplish this hwf identifies donors arranges and schedules vehicles and volunteers for the pickup and delivery of donated goods. Hwf annually raises funds to pay for storage space vehicle rental and other associated costs. Hwf is also involved in helping with computers which allows the organization to appeal for and collect good quality used laptops and redistribute these to the families helped in our ongoing programs. No additional new programs to note.
