Collect archive and perserve documents artifacts and pictures from the town's history. Especially our gold mine history. Provide information to visitors tourists schools residents descendants and researchers. Maintenance of historical buildings and displays on site and maintenance of museum gardens maintain cenotaph including world war 1 artifacts including maintaining the history of every person appearing on the cenotaph. Hold the annual stamp mill day celebration in may and canada day celebration on july 1st. We also operate a small tea room and gift shop to supplement income recieved from tourists and other donations. Also under destintation bc we operate a small tourist information booth. We operate totally by volunteers with the help of the federal government youth programme for summer help. Approximate volunteer hours for 2024 in 15000 new we are in the proces of retoring older buildings that we have moved on site to their original purpose. ( for example-barbar shop) this involves not only repairs to teh structutres but setting up displays from our extensive archive collection. This year we are putting together a walking tour of the town in booklet form. So many of the building are gone but the the sites are all marked with the historical information in the booklet. We are also putting funds into the siding of our museum building which which is showing its 40+ years of wear. We are also involved in catching up with the inventory backlog and cost of more acod proof storage paper in in our budget. We have several more projects on the agenda but will probably not get to these until 2016.
