The Ontario Career Lab: As an innovation center for excellence in career awareness and career development programming for young people The Ontario Career Lab provides workshops events and resources that empower youth to explore various career pathways develop essential skills and make informed decisions about their futures. Grade 7 Career Awareness Program: HIEC’s interactive student-driven Career Awareness Program provides current information on diverse career options supporting students as they transition to secondary school. The program helps students identify their skills explore occupational interests and engage in a four-step career planning process: self-discovery exploring opportunities decision-making and goal-setting and preparing for transitions. This approach complements and extends career and life planning beyond the classroom. ApprenticeSearch.com: ApprenticeSearch.com connects skilled trades job seekers and employers generating thousands of job matches annually. The platform supports youth and those facing employment barriers providing connections to apprenticeships pre-apprenticeship programs and career resources while offering data insights to highlight in-demand trades. Gateway to the Trades: Gateway to the Trades is a skilled trades exploration and employment-readiness program that equips participants with essential skills and industry connections for meaningful work in the trades. Participants gain lifelong employability and job search skills health and safety training and access to employer networks and job coaching helping them take immediate next steps in their skilled trades careers. Women as Career Coaches: Women as Career Coaches is an annual mentorship event to allow the next generation of young women to discover a wide range of potential career paths.
