In 2024 hhpl circulated 496 016 physical digital technology and ephemera items. The library offered 1038 literacy & early learning programs that were attended by 23 703 children & youth including family storytime baby rhyme & romp kinder prep lego robotics animation studio teen writers circle and vr at the library. We also offered programs that support professional development & lifelong learning which included 74 newcomer & adult learning programs attended by 353 individuals. Programs offered included genealogy circle researching your family history book clubs senior connectors seedy socials lecture and file series and culture days events. The library’s internet workstations facilitated 13 494 sessions while our public wi-fi was accessed 77 130 times. Our home delivery service visited 1170 residence-bound residents & people-at-risk delivering library materials and provided 144 hours of social interaction. We support over 72 community partners to meet clientele or offer programs including the alzheimer society center for skills development halton community legal services halton women’s place and volunteer halton. We had 73 volunteers provide 994 hours of service delivering materials to home bound residents assisting with processing of material and in providing programs. In 2024 new initiatives were launched offering residents access to materials technology programs & services. New programs included adulthood 101 a youth-focused life skills series supporting the transition to adulthood pa day programming with sonshie & broccoli a bees and pollinators lecture during culture days & a media production skills program to support media created by and for persons with disabilities. We distributed 450 pairs of solar eclipse glasses for the april total solar eclipse and conducted a community partner open house with library tours technology demonstrations and opportunities for partners to connect.
