About Halton Aphasia Centre
Supportive conversation groups for people with aphasia; conversation groups for people with PPA (primary progressive aphasia); Low Mood Group for people with aphasia and depression; caregiver support group; PPA client support groups; PPA caregiver support group; Women's support group; conversation partner training sessions. Groups are run by Speech language Pathologists and Communicative Disorder Assistants and trained volunteers. Groups are supported by Social Workers. The focus is on improving the quality of life while living with Aphasia. There has been increased programming awareness towards the impact of illness on mental health. Groups are completed in both virtual and live settings. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) group for people with aphasia.
