Halifax Transition House Association

The charity provided temporary emergency shelter for more than 250 women and families leaving situations of intimate partner violence (IPV) at the Bryony House Shelter. Programs offered at the shelter consisted of one-on-one supportive counselling. The Halifax Transition House Association provided outreach programming to more than 100 women through one-on-one sessions referrals group workshops and court support for women addressing legal matters. The Halifax Transition House Association also provided women and families residing in the shelter and those accessing our outreach program with housing support services food bank children's play therapy support to assist them moving forward. As part of the overall goal to create awareness of IPV we offered a few information sessions and workshops for partner organizations and other stakeholders in HRM. NO NEW PROGRAMS OFFERED.
