Breezy Sea Desalination Program has 3 objectives that are ongoing. BSDP Objective 1 is ongoing regular maintenance of the boat. A Haitian mechanic regularly inspects the boat and completes maintenance on all systems. BSDP Objective 2 is Transportation of supplies from the mainland to the island of La Gonave. There continues to be gang activity on the mainland and in the water surrounding La Gonave. Transportation of goods is a vital need and occurs when it is safe to do so. BSDP Objective 3 is provide potable water through desalination unit. The desalination unit is on site and is in good functioning order. Coastal communities continue to need potable water as they don't have good access. E-Bike Water Delivery Program. Women in the community are often overlooked when it comes to business opportunities as studies show that women in developing countries lack access to financial capital and are often constrained by cultural factors. Studies also show that women reinvest their revenue in their community by caring for their immediate and extended family with investment in nutrition health and education measures. Haiti WISH Canada owns 5 modified electric bicycles to deliver potable water in the community of Anse-a-Galets. Female delivery operators provide the perfect solution with this green energy resource. The batteries are recharged through a solar system. The women deliver water quickly and easily on the bikes. This project provides the access to a business and removes those cultural barriers so that women have the opportunity to provide for their families. As the women gain customers and grow their business they increase their own revenue.
