Throughout the year we delivered over 5 500 live science shows and programs engaging more than 89 000 K–12 students and 58 000 general visitors onsite while reaching over 2 000 students through our Portable Planetarium Program which brought immersive astronomy directly into schools and remote communities across British Columbia. In total we served 425 school groups and hosted 3 300 event attendees reinforcing our place as a trusted learning partner. Programming spanned a range of themes—from classic space science to new explorations of climate change AI in space and Indigenous astronomy—responding to the evolving interests of students educators and the public. Significant growth in digital delivery included a 35% increase in virtual programs and new community activations to promote intergenerational inclusive learning. In 2024 we launched several groundbreaking initiatives: STEM Youth Engagement Ambassador Program Expanded Portable Planetarium Outreach Expanded sensory-driven content showcasing planetary themes through music visuals and cultural storytelling. Culturally-Rooted Public Events: From our Lunar New Year Nowruz to the Solstice First People’s Day we brought diverse communities together under the stars for shared reflection and joy. ? Accessibility Inclusion & Collaboration Programming priorities in making with new sensory-friendly videos or digital content with ASL overlays or subtitles and youth-focused programming for underrepresented communities. We strengthened ties with Indigenous knowledge holders local artists and research institutions including positioning the Space Centre as a hub for science arts and innovation. ? Stories The Space Centre was featured in major local media and saw a 60% increase in event attendance a 40% surge in social media engagement and a 14% growth in digital traffic thanks to compelling storytelling and creative programming.
