The guelph public library delivers free library service to an estimated 160 000 members of the guelph region where the population is growing at a rate of 9% each year. The library provides access to a collection of over 265 000 publications and 120 000 multimedia materials that enrich educate and empower each individual in the city's growing multicultural community. Creative youth programming makes learning exciting and forges a livelong connection with adolescents to the library. Adults programs provide everyone with an opportunity to better understand their community and themselves by focusing on diversity independence and lifelong learning. The library maintains a strong archival and local history collection. As well as providing a gathering place for dialogue and research the library offers meeting and performance space to groups and residents. After 142 years in service the guelph public library's 6 vibrant gathering spaces provided more than 20 000 hours of service welcomed 1.9 million in person & online visitors registered 8 348 new members and delivered: 2.2 million item checkouts 402 723 eresource retrievals 3491 makerspace creators and 1 504 program attendees.
