The Guelph Film Festival’s mission is to inspire community engagement and appreciation of the arts by connecting people with stories of global reach and local relevance with a focus on social justice environmental issues and community-building. By curating films that spark conversation we promote dialogue and drive positive change through the transformative power of nonfiction storytelling. Guelph Film Festival (GFF) is committed to diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our programming. We ensure that 50% of the films presented are Canadian 50% are directed by female-identifying artists and 50% are created by diverse filmmakers (BIPOC LGBTQ2SIA+ Deaf & Disabled). In 2024 we presented 23 documentaries including 4 by indigenous filmmakers 5 by LGBTQ2SIA+ and/or BIPOC directors 1 by a disabled director and 4 by youth filmmakers from Guelph. Additionally 12 films were Canadian with 9 from Ontario showcasing our dedication to presenting both local and global voices.
