Employment Programs: Operate a range of services and programs directed at helping people secure employment thereby reducing poverty. Healing Through Equine Assistance and Resiliency Training (HEART) program focused on delivering foundational and transferable skills social-emotional skills and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) providing the program to 42 participants from racialized groups persons with disabilities newcomers and Indigenous people across the Kootenay region. Research Projects: Research related to poverty and labour market dynamics. Projects Include: Working Poverty - addressing complex needs of persons living in poverty addressing the affordable housing and homelessness issue in the community gathering data on the Living Wage in our community. Community Kitchen program. Bursary: Bursary to provide support for low Income women to engage in entry level training for career exploration. Bursary for low Income community minded youth to continue education. Programs include Skills Training Employment program for Young Adults focused on Emerging Technology Skills Training Employment program for Multi-barriered Persons RISE: Renew Inspire Support Engage a program dedicated to newcomers mature workers and people facing adversity. Sparking Opportunities a program focusing on people with disabilities to become self-employment in homebased businesses. Garden Box project through our Roots to Table programming that supports women in learning to grow and harvest their own food as well as purchase required equipment to garden at their own homes.
