Goodwill Industries of Alberta (Registered Society) is a social enterprise providing individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enhance their lives through meaningful employment. Direct charitable programs include Career Connections (Path to Employment) program which is a multi-service program for individuals with disabilities as well as the operation of donation collection and thrift store operation where skills and experiences are provided to persons with disabilities. Goodwill provides industry specific skills training career counselling and employment preparation and job research to obtain paid employment or volunteer work supporting the need of both clients and employers. You Can Ride (YCR2) is a program that supports the belief that every child should experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike. The program fits modifies and lend adaptive bikes to children with disabilities to help them overcome barriers and lead to productive and healthy lives. Goodwill@Work aims to create micro-social enterprises providing persons with disabilities the opportunity for new and enhanced work experience including the potential to own and operate their own businesses and which provide complementary services to other activities at Goodwill. Goodwill also delivers programming to help support multi-barriered Albertans increase their labour market participation and gain independence by assisting them to prepare for obtain and maintain employment.
