About Global Indigenous Development Trust
Global Indigenous Development Trust engages in community economic development training and empowerment partnership building education and advocacy. We work with First Peoples who drive our projects together with industry academic institutions and governments as partners to support our community-driven approach to development. Through equitable collaboration we help communities co-create a more sustainable model for economic development and the management of natural resources on Indigenous lands globally. We support project development and implementation based on natural values and principles. We build holistic development solutions by bridging Indigenous and conventional technology approaches supported by sound research and science. Sectors we work in include: natural resources (mining energy) organic agriculture infrastructure (food systems water/wastewater systems renewable energy housing and land development) and tourism. We negotiate partnerships between Indigenous communities and developers investors innovative businesses and technologies (particularly in the area of green technologies and biomimicry) and other partners for project success. We seek out and negotiate investment of capital in sustainable projects. We connect local communities and development projects with global technology know-how and networks for best-practices approach to development. We build global networks of know-how and exchange for continued learning and innovation. We advocate for awareness education and systemic change through research writing speaking locally nationally and internationally. All of our programs are ongoing.
