Gilbert Cove and District Historical Society

Society maintains the Lighthouse a provincial heritage property built in 1904. We hold a collection of artifacts and historical information related to the lighthouse and the region. The lighthouse is usually opened during the summer session and we will continue to encourage the community to hold events here. We also have a small museum and educational space within the Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse building. Donations are accepted when visitors attend the building. Crafters from the local community continue to provide hand crafted gifts to be sold on a commission basis to help with our funding. The Society encourages memorial donations and general donations throughout the year to help maintain the exterior space at the Lighthouse which includes a small trail and view of St. Mary's Bay NS If things go well season of 2025 we are hoping to replace the windows in 2026.
