Purchase organize and transport medical equipment to non-profit hospitals in Ghana. Design and provide training programs for community health care workers in recipient hospitals for the purpose of demonstrating proper use of donated medical equipment teaching clinical skills and providing medical education. Improve the health equity of remote communities in northern Ghana through public health education workshops and livestock-based income generating solutions for farming families. Design and provide training workshops and a computerized maintenance management system for biomedical engineers in recipient hospitals in Ghana to facilitate better equipment maintenance and repair and to improve the longevity of donated medical equipment. The GMH Medical Training Scholarship Award was created to support the medical training of future Ghanaian leaders in healthcare who are committed to rural service and lower-resource communities in Ghana. The goal of this scholarship is to improve health equity in Ghana for underserved northern populations. This program is considered an extension of our preexisting program aimed at supporting the education and training of northern healthcare workers. GMH awarded two scholarships - one to support an impoverished orphan attend medical school in northern Ghana and a second to support a northern healthcare worker complete a Master's of Public Health degree.
