Gerstein Crisis Centre is a community mental health organization that provides services to adults experiencing a mental health and/or addictions crisis. Our broad range of programs and initiatives includes our Community Mental Health Intervention Team and Crisis Beds Mental Health and Justice and Women and Homelessness Short-term Residential Crisis Beds and Crisis Team a Concurrent Crisis Management and Follow-up Team and Wellness and Recovery Programs. Gerstein Crisis Centre has partnered with Toronto Police Services in a collaborative pilot project working to divert non-emergent mental health related calls from a police response. Gerstein Centre is also the anchor agency for the Toronto Community Crisis Service pilot project which is accessed through multiple points including 211 and 911 and aims to divert individuals in non-emergent mental health and/or substance use crisis away from unneeded interactions with police to reduce harm and promote health and well-being. Gerstein Centre is one of 6 agencies comprising Here to Help (H2H) a multi-service community-based mobile team that responds to immediate community concerns that may give rise to conflict. Gerstein Centre is a network partner in the Canada-wide 9-8-8 suicide prevention and emotional distress crisis phone service.
