Gate of Hope Church

Advancing religion by establishing and maintaining a house of worship at 7717 19th Avenue Burnaby BC reaching to the Tigrigna speaking community in Vancouver BC through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 1. Worship: by organizing prayer groups and worship team to lead the congregation to preach the word of God in Tigrigna where people who speak and understand the language better on our Saturday and Sunday services. 2. Evangelism: sharing the Good News of Jesus to Tigrinya speaking people by appointing one part-time pastor and at least four volunteer church members in Vancouver. BC. We invited none believers to our church outings as part of sharing the love of Christ to them. 3. Fellowship: facilitating fellowship of believers for support edification and studying of the word of God together and create a spirit of family and oneness among the congregation. 4. Discipleship: teaching the believers to be grounded in their faith equipped in the knowledge of the word of God faithful for their calling be fruitful andeffective servants of God. 5. Ministry: Identify the gifts of the believers within the congregation and avail opportunities for them to serve their community in their God-given gifts. The children in the Teenager group have attended more than a year long salvation class and were baptized during our church outing after the COVID restrictions were lifted. A second batch has started taking similar classes all through our volunteer teachers/ members. Our children's first language is English we have been running the Children Ministry through our limited resources (volunteer members who can teach the children at our Saturday and Sunday Services. A retired English Speaking Pastor and his wife have joined us as added resource and are making a great contribution in the Children Ministry. We do not have the capacity to pay salaries and hence they are serving with bare minimum wages.
