Garry oak preservation society is dedicated to the preservation protection and restoration of garry oark stands and their natural habitats. The purpose of the society are: preserving to the greatest extent possible the remaining garry oak stands and ecosystems protecting and maintaining these restoring damaged representative stands of these promoting and conducting research into these ecosystems raising donations to support this mission promoting the aesthetic and natural values of these landscapes their species and elements fostering a sense of oneness with nature through these endeavours the society operates primarily within the capital regional district and is associated with like-minded groups
