To advance education and promtoe health by conducting medical and scientific research at massachussetts general hospital and making the results publicly available and by organizing and delivering educational programs to allow students physicians and other healthcare professionals from around the world to share knowledge and best practices in medicine in 2024 fmgc through its agency agreement with massachusetts general hospital launched and conducted severeal research studies: 1. Established the sandra arthur and sarah irving fund for anal cancer immunology research 2. Studied the effects of small molecules on multisystem smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (msmds) using patient-derived cells and the acta2 r179 mouse model. 3. Invested in the john and elizabeth irving fund for mood disorders research to be used to provide resources to study the use of the thyroid hormone t3 for augmentation of antidepressant medication in individuals who have had either a partial or no response to antidepressant medications in 2024 fmgc through its agency agreement with massachusetts general hospital advanced education by establishing the john and elizabeth irving fellowship in antidepressant research to provide resources for a two-year fellowship for early-career psychiatry-trained and licensed physicians from the us and canada focusing on antidepressant research
