Friends of Beacon Hill Park

The goal of Friends of Beacon Hill Park is 'To Promote & Protect the Natural & Cultural History of Beacon Hill Park.' Beacon Hill Park was set aside as parkland by Governor Sir James Douglas before 1858. The park is a historical treasure and one of the last refuges in Greater Victoria for some of the area's most delicate and endangered native plants and ecosystems. Ongoing programs of FBHP are: 1) Publish Park information newsletters. 2) Conduct nature walks 3) Speak at public hearings on issues relevant to defending the 1882 Park Trust 4) Native Plant regeneration program 5) Maintain Beacon Hill Park information Website. 6) Organize volunteer work crews to assist in invasive species removal organize invasive species removal volunteer work crews
