About Friends of Amani Canada
We provide social work services to homeless ('street') children in tanzania in the cities of arusha and moshi. These services include counseling and guidance along with providing basic needs including food and shelter. We provide these services through amani childrens home in moshi and the safe house in arusha. The former has capacity for 65 children and the latter for 22 children. There are 4 professionally trained social workers in arusha and 2 in moshi that do the street and slum outreach work four days a week. We also work towards safe family/community reintegration of former street children. Each year we reunite between 150 and 200 children with the families.
