About Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society
Our ongoing program is to award financial scholarships to successful applicants to our society. The selection of successful applicants each year is based on their submission of an application complete with a current post secondary school transcript plus an essay on their community involvement and volunteer commitments to the community. All applicants must be attending post-secondary school in the province of Alberta on a full-time basis during the year of application. Our society is completely run by volunteers. We have no paid staff. The main role for our volunteers is to be involved with one fund raising event every two years or so and each year participate in the selection review and awarding of scholarships to the successful applicants. Typical volunteer hours per year per volunteer would be about 30 hours with the exception of the chairman of the scholarship committee who may put in about 125 hours per year. no new programs this year
