A) to promote mental health and wellbeing by providing counselling and other supportive services to the genera l public in order to address factors that contribute to mental illness such as grief trauma anger stress addiction or other similar causal factor. B) to advance education by providing publicly available scholarships bursaries and other forms of financial assistance to individuals to be used to further their education in the fields of counselling phychotherapy and/or other therapeutic techniques that promote and improve mental health c) to advance education by conducting research into the benefits and efficacy of available and experimental treatments for mental illness and disseminating the research findings to health and wellness professionals and to the general public d) to promote and maintain high standards of practice in the mental healthcare for the benefit of the public by developing training programs for and providing funds for the training of individuals engaged in the counselling profession
