THE CHARITY ADVOCATES FOR BUILT HERITAGE PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION IN THE CAPITAL REGION OF FREDERICTON NB. IT ALSO SUPPORTS COMMUNITY HERITAGE EDUCATION INITIATIVES THROUGH WALKING TOURS SCAVENGER HUNTS PUBLICATIONS AND SUNDRY AD HOC ACTIVITIES. specific ongoing programs: -- biennial Garden Tour -- creation and updating of heritage publications including a children's colouring book and a booklet describing Fredericton's built heritage (Building Capital) -- ongoing media commentary on Fredericton's built heritage esp buildings that are currently at risk or under threat of demolition preparation of school programs intended to engage students and introduce them to Fredericton's built heritage -- developing a TV program in partnership with a media company that will describe the status and history of Fredericton's built heritage to be broadcast locally -- coordinating a publicity campaign with the goal of rehabilitating the Militia Arms Warehouse a wooden structure from 1832 recently damaged by fire.
