1. To uphold the administration and enforcement of the law by monitoring and reporting on the fulfillment of canadian human rights law including the canadian charter of rights and freedoms the canadian bill of rights the canadian human rights act and provincial and territorial human rights legislation as well as international treaties to which canada is a party that fall within the categories of united nations human rights covenants conventions and protocols international labour organization coventions and geneva conventions and protcols throughout the world; 2. To improve the moral and/or ethical development of the community by increasing public awareness of human rights issues and promoting respect for human rights in canada and internationally 3. To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part of the principal and income therefrom from time to time to qualified donees as defined in subsection 149.1(1) of the income tax act (canada). 4. Programs to increase the oversight and accountability of certain government funded non-governmental organizations ('ngos') that engage in discrimination or have strong links to organizations which encourage or carry out harrassment and/or violence against certain racial and/or ethic communities
